Collectric was originally formed in 1978, when a group of students from Riversdale College in Liverpool, UK got together to form an electrical collective (co-operative); hence the name “Coll ectric”.
The plan was to offer an electrical repair service in Aigburth. Our first workshop was in the old police station in Lark Lane, Liverpool. Over the years, Collectric has had a manufacturing side and a contracting function. Manufacturing started with security panels, test equipment and the sale of electronic components. Contract services have also been offered to telecoms companies.
Today Collectric manufactures control panels which use industry standard components. All our panels save our customers, money, energy, water and time. Our aim is to produce panels which reduce a customer’s carbon footprint. Our panels are completely serviceable and their development requires no new tooling. Collectric also offer training in a variety of electrical subjects and provide teaching services to colleges in the North West.
